Travel Bug Blues 2021: My Short Story
Do you have a bad case of the travel bug blues? Yes…me, too! We are all tired of reading, hearing and seeing stories about the BIG BUG IN THE ROOM. I give you today a story of a different kind.
Travel Bug Blues 2021, be gone. You are not welcome here.
Have you put hope on your calendar yet? I have the bug, and thoroughly enjoy helping folks navigate the road, the sea and the air to reposition themselves for mental and physical well-being.
FACT: We need to take a break and come up for air in this crazy world of too much information.
Our breath today feels heavier than ever. We are being bombarded with the blue light of computers, TVs and mobile phones. Our necks are strained. We are getting headaches and our kids are pleading for their friends…it is both unhealthy and exhausting, right?
Without judgement as to what is right or wrong (we must do our own research) as far as a vaccine for this bug is concerned, I am wishing you comfort in planning for your much needed escape. However that looks for you in the timing and destination, it is well-deserved and much needed. I am personally comforted by being connected to the right industry partners who give me updated COVID protocols, including the names of resorts that are providing the necessary testing on site and, in some cases, going so far as to allow the rare vacation quarantine without cost.
I recently learned the very encouraging data from Apple Vacations that only 23 of 3,000 travelers had a positive test while traveling in recent weeks. That is news that is somewhat comforting to me. You? I can help you by offering good options to protect your trip even to the point of covering that extended stay for up to $3,000. (The current and NEW vacation protection plan offered by both Arch Roam Right and Apple Vacations.)
The short story that I promised you is this. You miss your adventures. You love to wander. And it has never been more important that you reach out to your travel professional for guidance than it is right now.
Remember that COVID testing to return to the US mainland is not currently required for both Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands since they are US territories. That’s one less thing to be concerned about. Keep in mind that there are MANY people hoping for US beachfront fun this summer, so my advice is to reach out soon if you want that oceanfront room or condo. The mountains are beautiful year-round. Hawaii is open, although currently with some testing requirements to island hop. And our lesser-known National Parks would love to see you.
I, for one, am ready to head over to Cali to see my family for some fun. I am DONE with these Travel Bug Blues!!! Where are you headed?
Peace and good health to you, Bobbie
